Brief: To take a blood analysis process developed at York University and develop a complete machine and analysis system for the automated analysis of multiple blood samples.

Process: System design, generate machine and process concepts for the loading, sampling and PC analysis of multiple blood samples. Industrial design and ergonomics to introduce an attractive aesthetic and feel with a user friendly operation. Research and development of non toxic, light stable, process materials in engineering polymers to mould the disposable cassettes. Project management and assembly, IDC managed the whole development and undertook the initial production of the machines.

Achievement: The resulting machine is a world leader in the analysis of blood samples making bacterial analysis of all blood donations a practical and economic process.
