Gas Barbeque Range
Brief: To design and develop a new range of BBQ’s that would extend Leisuregrow’s existing range and provide a contemporary image that utilized new manufacturing materials and techniques. Based upon the standard three and four burner frames, IDC were asked to evaluate the UK BBQ marketplace and propose a new style together with a series of features that would enhance the functionality of the Mid to High end products.
Process: IDC worked closely with leisuregrows internal teams to ensure the ideas and generated fully explored the marketing brief and pushed the boundaries of what is a contemporary BBQ IDC also identifying new materials and production techniques that could be utilized in the development of this product. Initial product design sketches explored a wide variety of potential routes forward, then 3D CAD was employed to finalise the selected scheme. During the final stages, IDC liaised with the Australian and Chinese manufacturing facilities to oversee the design integrity of the final product. IDC also adapted and prepared prototypes ready for exhibition in both the UK and Germany.
Achievement: IDC created a BBQ product with a contemporary slant to thetraditional three / four burner flat and hooded BBQ format. The utilization of bent aluminum extrusions for the leg profiles and side tables provided a visual theme that can be developed across product categories.
