IDC frequently works with organisations across the globe and has multilingual designers to support this; spoken languages include French, German, Italian, Dutch, Serbo-Croat, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Stephen Knowles

Stephen Knowles – Managing Director
A chartered engineer, with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Stephen has wide experience of managing and undertaking technical and non-technical product design projects and has a thorough understanding of all aspects of design and manufacture. His experience of speaking includes: “Designing Products to Build Brands”, “Commercially Effective Design – Reducing the Risk of Product Innovation”; “Designing Successful Products”; and “Design and Analysis of Sports Equipment”. Stephen has spoken in the UK, USA and Hong Kong, and has recently presented a talk on ”Adopting Sustainable Design Principles”.

Mark Tanner

Marc Tanner – Head of Industrial Design
Taking a broad approach to design, Marc believes that context – trends in technology, lifestyle and culture – an understanding of consumer attitudes, and the power of creativity all come together to drive product development. Marc has a wide range of experience in design across a range of industry sectors – medical, telecoms, FMCG, consumer, and automotive – and has worked in San Francisco, Tokyo and London for multinational clients. Marc has spoken at a number of international conferences over the years, including Denmark, Norway and United States of America. The subjects for all conferences were related to design processes.

Brian Gough

Brian Gough – Projects Director
With over twenty-five years’ experience managing design projects, Brian has a deep understanding of the product design and development process and design engineering. Brian has delivered a wide range of ‘turn key’ projects for consumer, business machines and medical devices manufactured in Europe, India and China. Brian has also acted as an expert witness in a number of patent disputes relating to design, technology and manufacturing of products.

Vincent O'Horo

Vincent O’Horo – Production Director (idcmodels)
A time-server model and pattern maker, Vincent runs idcmodels, the rapid prototyping, modelmaking and production department of IDC. With a team of model makers and a fully equipped workshop (including SLA, vacuum casting, 3D CNC machining), he is responsible for ensuring that prototypes, models, mock ups and test rigs get made to the highest standards and are delivered on time and to budget.
